"Came here for drinks after a hot bus journey. We were gradually greeted in and left to decide what drinks we wanted. Service was a little slow but staff were overall really friendly !! We got the Gran Canaria cocktail which was very decorative and tasted alright; aswell as the Mango-Heaven smoothie. They also provided us with an ice cool bottle of water which was very refreshing However, the service was very slow which may be irritating for some but we didn't mind as we just wanted a calm sit down and a few drinks Would love to come back and try the food"

"I've been visiting this restaurant for more than 15 years, and it is one of my favourites in Gran Canaria. The menu offers a large variety of Canarian dishes, including freshly prepared fish, traditional tapas, and local specialities. The taste and quality are excellent. They are also happy to cater for vegetarians. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming—lively without being overwhelming—and it makes it a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal with friends or family. It’s a popular spot with locals and visitors, so it can get very busy at peak times. The staff are friendly, and even when service times slow a little during peak periods, they are attentive and helpful. It is especially a good place for groups and celebrations. Prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous. Overall it offers excellent value, especially when compared to many tourist-focused restaurants on the island. The portions are, in fact, often gigantic! Over the years, I’ve brought countless friends and family here, and it never fails to impress. Usually we order several starters and share them between the group, then follow with the individual main courses. They have a large selection of dishes on the menu, but El Capitan will prepare almost anything you can ask for if they have the ingredients in stock. There is an excellent variety of wines, beers, spirits, and cocktails, as well as freshly made smoothies. I have enjoyed many glasses of Champagne Sangria there with friends. (not on the menu; you have to ask for it) If you want to experience genuine local cuisine in a wonderful setting overlooking the sea, El Capitan is a place I wholeheartedly recommend. It is a true Gran Canaria gem that keeps me coming back time after time. It's dog friendly too, so Leo, my canine companion, always comes with me. It's also suitable for wheelchair users. Recommended."

"We were recommended to visit this restaurant. I think we managed to get the best table in the house, a booth in the corner with views out to sea. We visited at lunchtime and chose to share a pizza and a garlic bread. I do feel a lunchtime menu would be a great addition to this restaurant as dishes are more for an evening meal, size and price wise. We chose the vegetarian pizza and it had probably a bit too much aubergine on it, we ended up picking a lot of it off and I’ve never had carrots on pizza before, we are sure they were carrots, if not we would be interested to know what they were. It looked like it specialised in its fish dishes, with fish on ice displayed and live lobsters in tanks. We didn’t go to investigate but it did look like it had a children’s soft play area at the rear of the restaurant."

"The restaurant is in a great location, the fish was great but the paella was not up to standards, the rice & fish in the paella not what you’d expect for the price. Manager made aware & was offered to take off the bill which we refused & instead brought us a broad beans dish which was nice. Overall ok not the greatest & a bit pricey for quality."

"We had a very simple, traditional Canarian dish, breaded chicken with potatoes and salad, but omg it was DELICIOUS! The service was friendly and the guy spoke multiple languages. The food was brought very fast and we enjoyed the beautiful sea view. We will come back for sure!"
